✦ Episode Zero: Encounter. (Chapter 1, 2, 3)
So, this is the start of the web novella . . . Serah doesn't appear in the first chapter, though she is mentioned. The second focuses on Serah while the third is focused on her past and home life with Lightning. For some link dump: Chapter 2 (Drama CD) and Chapter 3 (Drama CD).
+ Serah doesn't recall the details behind her father's death, but she did understand what it meant not to see someone again.
+ She does know that her mother died from illness, and Lightning had been looking after her for awhile. The loss of their mother shook both of the girls in their own way.
+ Claire changed her name to Lightning in front of their mother's grave . . . S-Sis.
+ There is a lot of background details that sort of builds up her life the way it was. She was a high-school student, she lived at Bodhum, she liked to pick around ruins, she was going to college, etc.
+ There is also a lot of unspoken moments between her and her sister, like how she leaves food out for Lightning when she gets up first, can tell when Lightning met Snow, how Serah's been keeping her relationship with Snow secret . . . What you would expect from a completely open and honest sister pair, right? Yyyup . . .
