Serah explores the ruins at Bodhum and gets branded as a l'cie: Chapter 4 (Drama CD), Chapter 5, Chapter 6 (Drama CD), and Chapter 7.
Again, this is from the web novella, and this is the part that covers how Serah became a l'Cie. She explores the Bodhum ruins, finds an entrance, and is selected by the Gran Pulse fal'Cie, Anima, to become a l'Cie. Afterwards, Fang and Vanille find her, help her out of the ruins, and Serah wakes up on the beach, realizing what happened. The fifth and seventh chapters are Lightning plotting to go on a vacation with Serah, but doesn't actually feature Serah in it.

With this, Serah is at her max when it comes to spells and the like. There's a full list over here which covers all of the effects. Mostly, Serah leans more to undermining opponents and is very weak at buffs. All of these spells work as a one unit on the ATB gauge which means she will be hard-pressed to use these rather than her offensive magic until she gets some kind of boost . . .

Serah and Noel take part in a competition with the Coliseum, and they face Snow in the final round. When they go to leave, Snow can't come along due to a mysterious darkness, so Serah makes him promise to catch up when he can . . . Or she will hunt him down.
